AV Technology - Fantastic Four

For the final day of shooting Kaja, Manus, Olivia and I met up on Bandon Rd and went to Olivia's house. Olivia's friend Sadie who was the main character in our music video showed up soon after and we started Manus and Kaja started filming our scenes for the video.  We started of with the scenes of her getting ready in the mirror, then some shots of her looking out the window at the infrastructure and vaping.  Then shots of her walking down the stairs from the top and bottom and leaving the door. After that we got shots of her making a rollie in the doorway and then leavng the gate and spent about 2 hours walking around different parts of town getting different shots of her.  The main ones were her going to the off-license, walking around diffeent types of streets and taking shots of the grafitti next to St. Finbarrs Cathederal.  After all that was done we took the end shot of the video of her sitting on a doorstep as a "morning after" the club".  Today we started filming the getting ready and walking over shots. I took most of the shots with my camera and tripod and Kája took alternative shots from a different angle with her camera. We worked with Olivia and Courtney on choosing shots to take and directing our actor Sadie. We started in Olivias house where we took most of the mounted shots. We struggled to light the mirror scene correctly as it was quite dark and the only light source we had was an incandescent bulb. However the shots outside her house and next to the front door turned out really well as the natural light provided a large diffused source of light. I particularly liked how much the bright yellow in her jacket jumped out from the cloudy day.We then all walked together down Bandon rd and Barrack st. Stopping at various locations to shoot. Have footage from Crack Jennys - all crowd shots, Sadie is in there too - 2 lots of footage. Olivia shot this. Not logged yet. Really nice crowd footage - nice lighting, cool laser effects, nice texture with posters. Think about where to end it - at the docks? Sunrise? With friends? Have edited the track to 3 mins. Need to put up a blogpost per week. Sadie (actor) is in some of the dance footage. Do some character development posts on the character. Start at home getting ready for night out? Need to shoot Sadie walking from house to venue. Have a recsie done in the city. 2nd December - have rough draft done. Manus is shooting Sadie - hoping for the whole team to go. Planning on editing together - possibly each do a rough edit? Whoever shot the footage will log the footage.  Done: B-roll of city complete and shot, lots of graffiti, alleys, river etc. captured Crack Jenny's final night out all shot, crowd dancing, DJ, music, Sadie in venue etc. To do: Film Sadie walking through the city to crack jenny's Map out the route and finalise walking shoot locations First edit draft - due December 2nd

This week I was tasked with scouting possible locations to shoot. Here are a few of the locations I visited. -Barrack St/Bandon Rd -Tramore Valley Park -Kent train station -The Marina -College Rd -Grand Parade -Washington Street -Various Cork murals and graffiti walls -Crawford -Various small alleys  -St Angelas hospice My main takeaway from this was to focus more on the grimier parts of the city. Although Cork has a great selection of murals some are too polished for the aesthetic we're going for. We also decided against filming on busy streets such as Grand Parade and Washington Street as filming might be difficult there. Especially with the upcoming Christmas period. We also decided against St Angelas and the Kent station as we don't really have the time to go seeking permission to film in these places.

 5/11/22 I went filming in the club (Crack Jenny's) for a second time solo as Sadie wasn't able to make it the last time. I focused just on getting clips of her at the club this time, ones of her dancing, upclose shots, in the bathroom etc.
